Youth Matter, Inc. cares about the future
of our youth. We raise funds to offer two types of scholarship
programs for youth in the region of Hampton Roads Virginia.
- H.R. LONG SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIP
FUND
- YMI COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The purpose is:
- To help a student pay
for camp or a college education.
- To supplement college
costs, from tuition to books to room and board.
- To assist school ages
students who don’t have money to attend summer camp.
There are lots of scholarship programs in existence;
however, there are still many children who need financial support.
Our scholarships go toward college educations and summer camps.
Donations are sort from individuals and corporations. Scholarships
will be awarded to two students in the amount of $500 each for
their college education and two students in the amount of $250
each for a summer camp program. Mor scholarships are awarded based
on funds raised. An application criteria and a scholarship fund
application form are required to apply. Part of the criteria requires
a brief essay on "What are my dreams and how do I plan to achieve
them?" A Scholarship Fund Committee reviews the applications and
made the awards. The scholarships will be awarded in May or June
of each year.
